Kyla - 2 weeks

Kyla's mother and I go way back! I won her over with my extra cute posters I made when I was running for class treasurer in junior high. Really, who could blame her? Those posters were awesome! Airbrushed rainbows and pots of gold; I seriously don't know why I didn't win! But anyway... I had the absolute pleasure of going out to the California Bay Area to photograph this gorgeous little Kyla and her beautiful parents! I can't wait to do it again!

P.S. Fun Fact- In high school, Ginna (that's Kyla's mom) started calling me the "Ultimate Mother-Woman" after the character Sally in Of Human Bondage, by Somerset Maugham....now she calls me "The Baby Whisperer".

Bigger Is Better

Skye Hardwick, over at www.reveriemine.com, shared a very helpful post about seeing how the size of your portrait really affects how good it looks on your wall.  I thought I'd share it with you here.

Now, not everyone has a large wall or space to show a 30x40 wall portrait.  Sometimes an smaller print such as an 8x10 or 11x14 will fill a certain space perfectly.  If you're unsure about the proper size portrait to hang in a certain spot, ask me!  I'm happy to help with measuring and suggesting the perfect size for your space.   I want you to be happy with the portraits you've purchased, so I'll help you select the right size, not to small and not too big!

Beach Sessions

I've had a few people express interest in doing some Beach Portrait Sessions this summer.
Before I choose dates and locations I'd like to to know who else might be interested.  If you would like a chance to be photographed on one of the beautiful California beaches please leave a comment or send me a message.

I was looking through my blog for a certain image I was sure I posted a few years ago, but alas....I never did! So, I found a few of my favorites that never quite made it either. I'm sure there are many more, but here's a few to get you by for now! 501794925_5890

New Portrait Fundraising Blog

Did you know that we offer Portrait Fundraising Events for non profit groups?  Well, we do.
For the last 7 years or so I've had the opportunity to work some wonderful people to help them earn money for their special organizations and projects.  I've met some of the best people and I look forward to doing them each time.

To learn a little more about our fundraising opportunities visit our new blog at

Technically we're still not completely done and will add a lot new contact within the next few weeks. But feel free to take a look now and let me know if you are part of an organization that could use a little extra dough!

This session was so fun, and not just because I got to spend several hours with a really good old friend...not that she is old...but she is older than me...Sorry Rachael, it had to be said. Baby Samuel was an absolute delight. I'm looking forward to family portraits in a few months!

Almond Blossoms

Almond Blossoms

The Yutsuya Family was an absolute delight to photograph last weekend.  We met at their family home and then drove out to their own almond orchard for our family session.  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  It was nice and cool and just a bit overcast.  Beautiful!
