This is "Miss H". Her mom assured me that she hates getting her picture taken. She told me that she is a total grump when it comes time to smiling, and she deffinately wouldn't look at the camera! ...
...I think mom might have her confused with someone else!
Happy Birthday "H" I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

This weekend I was a brides maid in my best friend's wedding. It was the best day! Everyone looked wonderful, there were no major problems and everyone had a great time.
I had been looking forward to attending a wedding and enjoying it, with out having to be responsible for all of the photos for the day. I thought it would be a nice relaxing change...boy was I wrong.
I was more nervous wondering if the "real" photographer was getting all of the "right" shots. Was he getting it from the right angle? Did he take a picture of the center pieces? What about the brother of the bride, did he get the two of them together? What about the rings in the flowers? I finally had to take a step back and just let the day go by and trust that all is well. We will know with in a few weeks.
In the mean time, here are a few I did manage to get (or my husband got).
The flowers in this shot were sent by the groom. They are Christa's favorite flowers.
This pendant was made from jewelry belonging to Christa's grandparents.
This is Karen, an awesome Santa Clairita children and family photographer for all of you So.Cal. peeps!

I had so much fun working with the families and the animals last week at the Humane Society of Tuolumne County. I suprized myself, and REALLY did enjoy working with so many animals, I didn't think I would.
So far, the Humane Society made over $475 in just 2 days with more $$$ still coming in!
These two little guys are available for adoption (or at least they were last week).

Christmas Barter ~ 2008
Category: barter, family portraits, handmade, massage, tradeAuthor: Diane Conn
So who knows what bartering is? Bartering is where you trade services or goods instead of exchanging money. I've done it a few times. There was an awesome massage theripist in Sonora who had the cutest children. It worked out well for both of us. She got great images of her kids and I got to ignore mine for a couple of whole hours while getting my giant knots rubbed out.
I got to thinking this morning, that there has to be lots of people out there who have goods or services I may want and they might need some custom portraits. So here is the deal, if you make or something you think I may be interested in, let me know. Post a comment or send me an email and we might be able to work something out.
I few things I know I'm interested in:
-massages
-a facial
-piano lessons for my 6 year old
-a nice handbag
-dance classes for my 5 year old (do you have a dance studio?)
Christmas is coming. I have a lot of people I need gifts for. What do you have for...?
12 year old nephew
14 year old niece
6 year old son
5 year old daughter
2 year old daughter
Grandparents
Siblings

Well, tomorow is Halloween! My kids costumes are all ready and we attended our first Halloween party last night. Andrew was Spiderman. We had Grandpa draw really cool spider webs on his face so he didn't have to wear a mask. Lissy was a very pretty witch with scary eye brows. And little Sarah was a lady bug. I wipped out a little black plaid jumper (from fabric Grandma has had in her fabric stash for over 20 years) for her in "little less-a-half-a-hour". Not to shabby if I do say so myself!

Mommy cards are a great way to exchange information, when setting up those impromptu play dates or to leave your contact info with a new baby sitter. These business cards are available with one or two sides. You can include all the information you want, like allergies, doctor's phone number and emergency contact information. Each card is custom designed to compliment your child's portrait.
Visit www.ConnPhotography.com/mommycards.html for information on how to order these awesome cards!

This good looking guy is Adam. He was recently asked to submit a portfolio for a modeling contract and so who did he call? Thats right, he called me, his favorite 2nd cousin ever! We had a good time, and let me tell you, its quite refreshing not having to make stupid faces or silly noises to keep his attention.
Good job Adam, you even followed directions! I did forget to give you a sticker from my prize box, but I have it here for you, don't worry!
Good luck on the modeling gig!
